Anabel Juárez is a binational female artist born in Michoacán, México (1988), who lives and works in and around The Greater-Los Angeles Area. Her ceramic practice includes her Garment Series, Flora Series, and the Polychromatic Abstraction Series. Some of the recurrent themes in her work are notions of femininity, resilience, desire, and memory. Juárez earned a BFA in ceramics from California State University, Long Beach, and an MFA in Art from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work has been exhibited in the USA, France, and México and has been featured in multiple publications including Artforum. She is the recipient of scholarships such as The UCLA Graduate Division Award, the UCLA Graduate Opportunity Fellowship Program Scholarship, and others. Moreover, her work is held in the permanent collection of the French National Ceramics Museum-Sèvres, as well as in several private collections. |
